Curious George meets I Spy in this super fun board game. My children love to play by the rules as well as creating their own version of the game. The contained pieces make clean-up a breeze and it is even safe for our toddler to play.

My three year old is a big fan. The shapes are pretty easy to identify, and as one other reviewer said, I really like how all of the little pieces are trapped inside the enclosure (i. e. , they can’t get away). Good repeat game play value — we’ve played a bunch of times and he doesn’t seem to tire from it.
One critique, when shaking for the ‘wave’, is that at least one of the compartments often ends up with little to no sand/prizes. It’s hard to get the shake exactly right so that each compartment has a bunch of sand / prizes.
Good fun for little ones.

This game has the joy of dicovery and uses memory skills for strategy. It seems some items are seen more than others, so it makes it more exciting when the elusive dinosaur is spotted, or just the pincher of the crab can be seen. My older kids (8 and 10) who are often asked by my youngest(4) to play her new favorite game, enjoy the strategy of memorizing where everything is and being able to look in the correct space for an item. They also have all kinds of theories on how to guess where items might move when the wave allows us to shake it up.
Our four year old has favorite items to find. At first she wanted to claim special items as hers, before she actually had won them (by discovering their hiding spot. ) She declared them off limits to her syblings, saying she was playing by her own rules. Smiles. With time she has learned to accept that someone else may find it before she does. We have also learned that it can be fun to rewrite the rules, and use our own creativity to alter tried and true themes. It is a perfect example that reminds us that play is a very important teacher in our lives.

I really appreciate this new twist on an old favorite . . . Memory. Building visual recognition skills is an important part of early development, and I love that this game combines cards, a spinner, and the “shaker box. ” The directions are so simple and the interest level is high. Because of the “wave” feature, it is never the same game twice.

We have a lot of fun playing this game. It is sophisticated enough for a 5 year old but my 2 year old likes to help shake the box, spin the spinner, and look for matches. I love how colorful and high quality the materials are. It is great if you want to encourage memory games and matching, and puts a differnt spin on it.
