After waiting almost 3 weeks, I got a notice stating that
they were sorry, but they were unable to ship my order due
to none in inventory. Needless to say, I was very upset as
this was a Christmas gift that I could have purchased locally but chose to order through Amazon as a matter of convenience. I will not make the same mistake twice.

My 10 month old pulled this over on himself while playing with it. Luckily he didn’t get hurt as it is quite heavy! I’m taking it back to the store tomorrow!

I don’t disagree with the fact that this is a good toy for the hand coordination and general development of a young toddler. My daughter enjoys it. BUT you need to keep in mind that this is a solid hard wood cube shaped toy. My daughter accidently fell and hit her head hard on the corner. (You should have heard the loud noise. . . )She got a bad bruise on her forehead for at least 15-16 days. After the bruising is gone, the hit mark didn’t completely disappear. So. . . either watch your kid very closely or don’t buy this toy until after your child masters walking and/or standing up in balance. If I knew what I know now I would go for another kind of development toy rather than this one.

I have been eyeing this toy for months and finally got it for my now 10 month old daughter. First thing she did is reach up, grab the wire loops and tug. The toy, although somewhat hefty, lifted off the floor a bit. That was a bad omen to me. Second tug, the thing tipped all the way over, my daughter fell onto her back and the toy came down on top of her. She wasn’t hurt, but it’s clear that it is not safe for her to play with it unless she’s under strict supervision. I’m returning it immediately.

Our 12 month old adores this toy and I can see how she will grow into many of the features of it. For example, she really enjoys spinning the beads on top but can’t push them uphill yet. She also really loves to slam the little wooden doors open and shut (yes, you can slam the door open against the side of the toy. It makes a loud clacking noise that causes her to giggle).
I would recommed keeping this toy on a floor or other hard surface. Toddlers can pull the toy onto themselves if it is placed on a soft surface (like in a playpen). It isn’t heavy and she didn’t get hurt from it but she wasn’t really happy about it either. In any case, she resumed playing immediately once both child and toy were moved to the floor. Also, I would suggest padding the edges before giving it to a toddler since it is possible for them to lose their balance and conk their heads against the toy’s hard edges. Again, much tears and a little bruise but she was fine afterwards.
Despite this, I highly recommed this toy for any but overly protective parents and have added the other Parents busy boxes to my wish list.
